Note: We offer a wide range of pay rate: rate will be determined based on operator proficiencies and certifications. *Century Concrete LLC seeks an experienced Excavator Operator for work in the Richmond Region.* *Essential Job Functions:* * Performs all duties and responsibilities of Skilled Laborer position * Familiar with various soil types and implements safe excavation practices based on soil types * Operates backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, forklift, skid-steer and loader to excavate, load, haul/transport and grade all forms of earth/aggregate materials in a safe and productive manner * Operates backhoe, excavator, forklift, skid-steer, and loader to load, haul/transport, and hoist material, concrete and other items in a safe and productive manner * Understands site access and logistics; adapts to operate equipment according to site conditions, unlevel working surfaces, etc. * Ensures that equipment is in safe working order and functions properly; completes operator daily checklist and reports problems to Superintendent/maintenance department * Maintains, cleans and performs light equipment maintenance (e.g., lubrication) * Coordinates equipment actions with crew using hand/audio signals; understands and applies signals * Understands and ensures proper rigging of loads * Recognizes and avoids hazards including underground and overhead utilities * Fastens equipment attachments (e.g., connects hydraulic hoses, belts and linkages) * Assists mechanics with onsite equipment repair * Maintains a safe work environment, employs safe working practices, participates in safety and job-related training and certification, and continuously improves knowledge of operational safety Other duties as assigned *Minimum Qualifications:* · All minimum qualifications of Skilled Laborer position · Must be available for travel over extended periods of time on short notice · Must be certified in trenching and excavation (internal CCI training), signalman and rigging certifications preferred. * High School or GED preferred but not required. * 2+ years experience and various equipment (loader, skid steer, forklift excavator, etc. *Physical Demands and Working Conditions:* This position requires daily outdoor work in various weather conditions, and exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and loud noises. Must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, walk, stand, climb, crawl, work at heights, exert heavy physical effort, and may handle objects up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
