We prioritize company culture, employee growth, and doing the job right. *Position Overview* We are looking for an experienced *Lead HVAC Technician* to drive residential new installations and handle targeted service work across the Gallatin Valley. This role is ideal for an installer who wants to run high-efficiency heat pump jobs, hone their diagnostic/service capabilities, and grow their career alongside our expanding Montana operations. *Key Responsibilities* * *Residential Installs:* Lead full installations and retrofits for cold-climate ducted/ductless heat pumps, air handlers, dual-fuel systems, and custom ventilation. * *Service & Diagnostics:* Perform troubleshooting, system maintenance, and performance testing on residential equipment. * *System Commissioning:* Execute startup procedures, verify airflow/refrigerant charge, and tune systems for high-altitude, cold-weather efficiency. * *Mentorship & Quality Control:* Guide and train apprentices on trade practices, safety protocols, and clean sheet metal work. * *Customer Interaction:* Walk homeowners through completed installs, explain system controls, and represent Independent Power’s quality standards on site. *Who You Are* * A trade professional with *3-5+ years* of residential HVAC installation and service experience. * Experienced with modern heat pumps, inverter technology, and cold-weather system design. * A clear communicator with an entrepreneurial spirit who wants to grow with an expanding shop. *Requirements* * EPA Section 608 Universal or Type II Certification. * Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. * Experience in residential sheet metal fabrication, refrigeration handling, and basic electrical wiring. * Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely on ladders, roofs, and in crawlspaces. *Compensation & Benefits* * *Hourly Rate:* $34.00 – $46.00 / hour (depending on experience) * *Retirement:* 401(k) with company match * *Health & Wellness:* Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance * *Paid Time Off:* Year 1: 2 weeks | Year 2: 3 weeks | Year 3+: 4 weeks * *Career Growth:* Ongoing paid manufacturer training (Mitsubishi, Lennox, etc.), mentorship, and opportunities for more responsibility. *Schedule:* Four 10s, Monday – Thursday (Occasional overtime as needed) *Work Location:* Bozeman, MT – In Person Pay: $34.00 - $46.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
