Description

The opening of the Northern Virginia Science Center is the largest project in the Science Museum’s history. As we prepare to open our doors in spring/summer 2027, we’re seeking a Facility & Exhibits Supervisor who is excited to roll up their sleeves and help bring this one-of-a-kind experience to life. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for the building, interactive exhibits, and the systems that keep everything running smoothly. You will lead a team of Facilities and Exhibit Maintenance staff; oversee repairs and maintenance; and help install, operate and care for the Science Center’s interactive exhibits and equipment. The position reports to the Science Center’s Operations Director and will regularly work with the Science Museum’s Director of Facilities in Richmond to help make sure the Science Center is safe, secure, sparkling clean and ready for discovery every day. The position will be based in Northern Virginia and we’re anticipating filling the role sometime this October. Training will take place in Richmond, with the candidate expected to spend 2-3 days a week in Richmond from October-January. Telework or other work arrangement will be made for the remaining days each week until the Science Center is fully constructed.
