Description
*Job Overview* We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Manufacturing Mechanic Engineer / CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in designing, programming, and maintaining advanced CNC machining processes to produce precision-engineered components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, expertise in CNC programming, and a passion for optimizing manufacturing efficiency. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure high-quality standards, and support the development of innovative manufacturing solutions to meet production goals. *Duties* * Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes, utilizing CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and AutoCAD. * Set up machining tools and fixtures accurately on CNC machines, ensuring precise alignment and calibration using measurement tools like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). * Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure parts meet strict specifications. * Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment including Fanuc controllers, electrical discharge machining (EDM) systems, and other precision machinery to minimize downtime. * Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity across machining operations. * Conduct quality control inspections using precision measurement instruments to verify part dimensions and adherence to specifications. * Collaborate with design engineers on CAD models for manufacturing feasibility and provide feedback for design improvements related to machining processes. *Requirements* * Proven experience in CNC programming and machining with proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar platforms. * Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. * Hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines (including 5-axis), CNC lathes, EDM systems, and associated tooling setups. * Familiarity with Fanuc controls or other CNC controller systems is highly desirable. * Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), measurement techniques, and the use of precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM). * Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts to promote efficiency improvements within the production environment. * Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams related to machine operation and troubleshooting. * Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with a solid understanding of metal machining processes. * Strong math skills essential for precise measurement calculations and programming adjustments.
