Our mission is to provide top-tier equipment and service to our customers, and we are seeking a skilled Excavator Mechanic to join our team. This position is crucial to maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the performance of our fleet of excavators and heavy equipment. Position Overview: The Excavator Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of excavators and heavy equipment in our fleet. This position requires extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and heavy equipment repair. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with troubleshooting and performing repairs on-site, as well as in the shop, ensuring that our equipment is always in optimal condition for our customers. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on excavators and other heavy equipment. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and hydraulic system servicing. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems, minimizing equipment downtime. On-Site and In-Shop Repairs: Travel to job sites to perform emergency repairs and maintenance on excavators and heavy equipment. Work in the shop to repair and refurbish machines, ensuring they are ready for deployment or rental. Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on excavators, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and system diagnostics. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Parts Management: Order and replace parts as necessary to complete repairs. Keep accurate inventory of parts and tools required for equipment maintenance. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all repairs are performed in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic, with a focus on excavators or heavy equipment. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems on heavy machinery. Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team. Tools & Equipment: Own a set of mechanic tools (preferred), with experience using diagnostic tools and software. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a workshop or field environment. Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel to job sites as needed. Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment, and work in varying conditions, including outdoor environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with various brands of excavators and heavy equipment, including hydraulic systems and attachments. Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair. CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus. What We Offer: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
